This an excellent ongoing project where students list clues about their local community and then try to match clues from other schools with their corresponding locations. Students may work in cooperative groups using traditional media such as atlases and reference books as well as CD-ROM encyclopedias and atlases or the Internet. Now they also have an online version: GeoWebGame so that you can play the game anytime according to your own schedule.

Mindseye Monster Exchange Project (Sample project)

This is an excellent project where children draw a monster and then write a description of what they have drawn. The descriptions are then sent to children in another school. Those children try to draw the monsters from only the descriptions. Resulting drawings are then compared to originals.
